Miss Petal is Finished!
( well....apart from her facial features, i will leave them for her new owner to paint on as she is the real artistic one.)
Here she is visiting Summer Hill, one of the artists earlier paintings.
Miss Petal is a bit of a city girl, she like lunching and coffee's, sitting in the park and enjoying the sunshine and people watching. She loves dressing up and feeling like a lady and she likes to pretend that she is a bit like Audrey Hepburn, swanning around in beautiful clothing being a bit mysterious.

In My Space this week :
Its all about Miss Petal this week.
I was going to wait until i had finished my Granny Blanket to start on Miss Petal, but i couldn't stop thinking about her and now I'm over half way though finishing her and so pleased with the way she is looking.
Last night she got a glossy new pair of red Mary Jane's, I cut out a heap of petals for her dress (great way to use up some scraps!) and sewed a few on.
Also in the works still is the Granny Blanket, I'm averaging about 2 squares a day and Ive worked out I've only got about 12 more squares to go until i have enough for a medium sized blanket.

Went out to dinner with some good friends last night and couldn't help myself when i saw my friends bag, and when she told me the price i nearly cried.
Beze is the QUEEN of Op Shopping,
she always finds cool things.........this bag was a mere $4 at an Oppy somewhere.

Here is Miss Petal, my softie doll inspired by the artworks of the wonderful one and only Meredith Gaston
She has deviated a bit from my original sketch but im sooooo happy with how she's turned out so far
Im not going to put a face on her, i plan to send her to Meredith in Berlin and will let her work her magic with some paints top create the right face

This is my Creative Space.
Im so sick of only having Granny Squares to post when Thursdays come around, but the only other creative thing im doing at the moment is getting my ETSY shop ready for launching.
I had my good friend Cassie take some product pics for me the other night and she had a bit of fun taking photos of my studio as well, so i thought i would share them instead.
Above is my bookcase, stuffed to the brim with collages, toys, quilts, bunting, paper garlands, books sculptures and lots of other crafty goodness.
Below is a cool close up of some of my paper garlands sitting pretty in a row

I absoluteley LOVE this girl!
Ive known Meredith most of my life, My Aunt is her god mother and our families have been friends for years.
I am so in awe of her awesome talent and adventuring spirit, she's years younger than me and already an established and successful artist, living in Berlin with her own little studio to paint in every day. LUCKY GIRL!
I love her whimsical paintings, ive always love the aesthetic her little ladies have and the other day i had a brain flash...............How good would one of these pretty girls look made as a Softie!
